After taking 2023 off due to scheduling complications, Sarasota-Manatee Originals' "Set the Bar" competition is returning on April 14 at Ed Smith Stadium. Twenty-five area mixologists will present their innovative creations in five spirit categories to both a judging panel as well as the attending public. Judges will critique each cocktail based on flavor, appearance, bartender presentation and imagination.

Participating Sarasota-Manatee Originals restaurants will also feature small bites alongside their featured cocktails in order to ensure plenty of full bellies alongside a day full of sipping spirits.

"Set the Bar was created to celebrate the immense talent of our local bar programs," says Sarasota-Manatee Originals' Liza Kubik. "Just like chefs in the kitchen, our bartenders play a crucial role in creating memorable dining experiences. We're thrilled to shine a spotlight on their creativity and expertise."

Tickets for the event are currently on sale for $85 and will also be available for $95 at the door on the day of the event. Proceeds from "Set the Bar's" silent auction will benefit Children First.
