Five Nail Trends To Try This Spring and Summer

Very little can make you feel more put together than a fresh set of nails. And with summer quickly approaching, there’s no better time than to try something new. Life is too short to have boring nails.
We spoke with Bradenton-based nail tech Stacey MacDonald to find out the trendiest nails of the season. MacDonald received her nail tech license in 2021. Since then, she has been giving local nail fanatics the trendiest styles and posting photos of her work to her Instagram account, staceystipsntoez.

That’s Hot
The weather is warming up. So should your nails. Hand painted flames can instantly spice up your entire look. Add red, orange and yellow flames on top of the base color of your choice—or do away with realism and try some funky-colored flames, like pink or blue.
A Budding Romance
Flowers? For spring? Groundbreaking. But they don’t just have to be for the outdoors or a bouquet. Add some 3D acrylic-sculpted or hand-painted flowers and transform any boring manicure into a spring-time dream.
Pastel Takeover
We all love a classic red nail, but this season, make pastels your go-to colors. Try baby blue, yellow or purple. And if you want something a little more subtle, gently fade the pastel into a nude color for a stunning pastel ombre.
Do the Wave
Waves are no longer just for the beach. Nails covered in swirls and waves have been all the rage on Instagram. This design can be accomplished with both muted, bright and pastel colors. Tip: use bright, playful colors for a '60s psychedelic vibe.
Everglades Chic
Certain snakes, like Burmese pythons, are considered invasive species in Florida. But one place that snakes are more than welcome is on our nails. You can achieve this vegan-friendly snake skin look with the help of a blooming gel. This product, when applied beneath a polish, encourages it to spread, creating patterns like tie dye, marble and—of course—snakeskin.
