Shark Spotting
Venice is dubbed the shark tooth capital of the world, but you can do more than hunt for sharks' teeth. Families can take part in Venice Shark Spotting, an interactive public art installation featuring bronze sculptures of 10 shark species native to the area’s waters. The roughly 10-inch-long sculptures are permanently installed in different locations throughout Miami, West Venice and Tampa avenues in downtown Venice. Artists from Sarasota’s Bronzart Foundry used a combination of centuries-old and modern techniques to bring lifelike detail to the miniature sharks they crafted. The Intergenerational Fountain
Splish and splash on a sand-free outing that gets the kids outside and keeps them cool. The Intergenerational Fountain in Centennial Park in the heart of downtown, between West Venice Avenue and West Tampa Avenue.
